Antique German Beer Stein Restoration and Repair Services Antique beer steins, mugs, and tankards originated in Germany in the 1500s. Most antique beer steins were produced along the Rhine River, as Mettlach Villeroy & Boch became the premier stein manufacturer. Although beer steins are still produced today, the demand for German beer steins waned in the early 1900s when World War I began. Antique German beer steins are highly collectible today due to their colorful decoration and high craftsmanship. The scenes depicted on antique beer steins can be anything from a historical battle to athletics to humorous activities to a festive or partying atmosphere. We have restored many types of antique beer steins and would love to repair or restore yours!

Mettlach Villeroy & Boch Repair and Restoration Villeroy & Boch began in 1748 when Francois Boch and his sons set up a pottery company in the village of Audun le Tiche, France. The company moved its operations to the city of Luxembourg and then in 1801 the Bochs moved to Mettlach, Germany, which was a major producer of porcelain and ceramics on Europe at the time. In 1836, the Boch company merged with its competitor, Nicolas Villeroy, and became Villeroy & Boch. The company is famous for producing high quality beer steins, bowls, plates, and other ceramic items- many of which are quite popular with collectors today. We have restored many pieces of Mettlach Villeroy and Boch and would love to repair or restore yours!
Most items can be fully restored for under $100. Please EMAIL US for a free estimate- you'll be pleasantly surprised!
